Aug. 13 (UPI) -- Smylie Kaufman and longtime girlfriend Francie Harris got engaged Saturday.

The 25-year-old golfer popped the question on the tee box on the hole No. 14 at Shoal Creek Golf Course. The course is near Kaufman's hometown in Birmingham, Ala.

"From getting dropped off by your parents for our first date to long distance during college and now traveling the world with ya! I can't wait to have many more adventures with you on this incredible journey! Love ya Fran and can't wait to marry you," Kaufman posted on social media.

He also posted several photos of the couple reacting after Harris said "yes." Kaufman prepared a table, draped with a white cloth, which included photos of the couple throughout their relationship and a few flowers.

The photo gallery included one shot of Harris showing off her new gem. The silver ring has a circular setting and appears filled with diamonds.

"This will forever be my favorite fairway! I can't wait to marry you, Smylie Kaufman! #fairwayfinds," Harris wrote on social media.

Kaufman played college golf for four seasons at LSU before turning professional in 2014. Harris was a cheerleader at Auburn. Kaufman did not qualify for the PGA Championship. The 150th ranked golfer in the world had his best finish this season at the Wells Fargo Championship, where he tied for fifth.

He won the 2016 Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.
