Bryce Harper talked football with Joe Buck in the middle of the All-Star Game

July 12 (UPI) -- What was on Bryce Harper's mind during the fourth inning of the 2017 MLB All-Star Game? The Dallas Cowboys, of course.

The Washington Nationals slugger was playing right field for the National League, with the score tied 0-0 Tuesday at Marlins Park. He was wired with a microphone in the middle of the inning and had a short conversation with Joe Buck from the broadcast booth.

"I feel like you're good at multi-tasking," Buck said.

"I feel like I'm commentating, like NFL Network, with you right now," Harper said.

Buck then relayed that their was a man on and two outs in the inning, but Harper wanted to get back to football.

"Speaking of which, how do you think [Cowboys quarterback] Dak [Prescott] is going to be this year?" Harper asked.

"I have not met a more impressive young player coming into the NFL in the time that I have covered," Buck responded.

"Oh man is he fun to watch. Watching him on Sundays and Mondays, Thursdays. That guy. Him and [running back] Zeke [Elliott]. I mean, unbelievable; just a lot of fun," Harper said.

"It is. Dak is a special kid. And tough," Buck said.

"Absolutely," Harper said.

Harper said later that he thought the interview was fun.

"It was pretty cool. I felt like I was on Monday Night Football with Buck, talking to him a little bit right there," Harper said, according to the Washington Post. "It was definitely a lot of fun. Definitely a little crazy. All those guys are up at the plate, [Carlos] Martinez is pitching, and I'm talking to Buck through the microphone. So it's definitely a different situation."

Harper made a diving catch in the outfield during the National League's 2-1 loss. He went 1-for-1 and had a walk in the loss.
