"Lasorda is resting comfortably and appreciates all of the support," the team said in a statement.
The Orange County Register reported that Lasorda has been in a Los Angeles-area hospital for several days. Specifics of his illness and condition were kept private, but the newspaper indicated that the Hall of Famer was in the intensive care unit.
Lasorda, 89, has a history of heart problems and was hospitalized after a heart attack as recently as 2012.
The former manager has been hospitalized numerous times in the past year, including after a fall in August while attending a memorabilia show in Atlantic City, N.J.
Lasorda is serving as a special adviser to the chairman while in his 68th season with the Dodgers. He managed the club from 1976 to 1996, winning four National League pennants and two World Series.
