Texas Rangers: Former President George W. Bush videobombs TV broadcast

May 18 (UPI) -- President George W. Bush had terrific seats for the Texas Rangers' 9-3 win against the Philadelphia Phillies Wednesday at Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas.

Bush made his presence known during a FOX Sports broadcast. During the game, the cameras shot over to reporter Emily Jones McCoy. During her report, fans can be seen walking behind her. One of those fans happens to be the 43rd President of the United States.

Bush turned toward the camera during the broadcast and shouted "hey." He appeared to be holding a cup of beer. The former president was also found in the stands at a game in April.

Jones McCoy tweeted that it was her "most favorite photo bomb ever." TIME's Ashley Hoffman reported that Jones McCoy walked over to Bush and asked if he photobombed her. He said "Yep, I sure did."

Bush, 70, bought a small stake in the Rangers to become a managing general partner in 1989. He bought an additional ownership stake in 1990 and again in 1991. He became governor of Texas in 1994 and resigned as managing general partner of the Rangers, but kept his ownership stake in the franchise. Tom Hicks bought the team in 1998 for $250 million.

Shin-Soo Choo led the Rangers at the plate Wednesday, going 3-for-4 with three RBI. Jared Hoying also impressed in the batter's box, going 4-for-4 with two RBI. Delino DeShields also went 4-for-4.

The Rangers (21-20) look to sweep series Thursday night. Texas won the AL West twice from 1989 through 1997. The franchise posted a winning record in six of those seasons under Bush.
