Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez was activated from the 10-day disabled list, the team announced Thursday.
To make room for Gonzalez on the roster, infielder/outfielder Scott Van Slyke was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Gonzalez was placed on the disabled list for the first time in his career on May 5 with right elbow soreness. He played in two rehab games with Class A Rancho Cucamonga, going 3-for-6 with two doubles and two RBIs.
In 29 games with the Dodgers this season, Gonzalez is hitting .255 with no homers and 11 RBIs.
Prior to his stint on the disabled list, Gonzalez had played 1,833 games without a trip to the DL, which was the most among active players.
Van Slyke appeared in 28 games with Los Angeles this year, and he was hitting .122 with two home runs.
