May 16 (UPI) -- Kevin Cash had some explaining to do to the Tampa Bay Rays before their game Monday in Cleveland after his baseball stats were posted on the video board.

The culprit: Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona.

Francona has a longstanding prank battle with Cash and actually managed the Rays' current skipper for three seasons with the Boston Red Sox.

Last year, Francona trolled Cash when he put up his career stats on the Progressive Field video board. "Kevin Cash: a tribute to a legacy. Career stats – 2002-1020," the July stunt read. Cash was also a former Indians bullpen coach.

On Monday, Francona was at it again, after he told reporters he had "something small" planned for Cash.

During batting practice, the Rays looked up and could see another stat line. "How bad is Kevin Cash at the plate," the scoreboard said. "Cash's career batting stats: .183/.248/.278. In the history of Major League Baseball among all non-pitchers with at least 650 plate appearances, Kevin Cash is the 5th worst OPS+ of all time."

Cash, 39, was a career- .183 hitter with 12 home runs and 58 RBI in eight seasons for the Toronto Blue Jays, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Houston Astros, New York Yankees and Red Sox. The former catcher played his last season in 2010, under Francona.

The Indians beat the Rays 8-7 Monday.

Cash is 167-198 in three seasons as the Rays' manager. This year's Rays are 19-22 and battle the Indians in Game 2 of the three-game series at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday.
