The Seattle Mariners announced Saturday that right-hander Hisashi Iwakuma, who joined three other starting pitchers on the team's disabled list, is expected to miss four to six weeks because of inflammation in his right shoulder.

Iwakuma, 36, was placed on the 10-day disabled list Wednesday and underwent testing Friday in Seattle. He was examined by Mariners medical director E. Edward Khalfayan, who confirmed the initial diagnosis of shoulder inflammation.

Iwakuma is 0-2 with a 4.35 ERA in six starts in his sixth season with the Mariners.

Iwakuma joins Felix Hernandez (shoulder), Drew Smyly (flexor tendon) and James Paxton (forearm strain) on the DL, leaving right-hander Yovani Gallardo as the only starter from the Opening Day rotation.
