Fan grazed by stray bullet at Busch Stadium during St. Louis Cardinals, Milwaukee Brewers game

A woman attending Tuesday night's baseball game inside Busch Stadium in St. Louis was grazed by a stray bullet.

According to St. Louis police, the 34-year-old fan was inside the ballpark during the game against the Milwaukee Brewers when she felt pain in her arm. A bullet was later found near her seat.

The Cardinals released a statement Wednesday morning about the incident.

"We are aware of an incident last night in which a fan reported being struck by a stray bullet that presumably originated from outside of the stadium," the Cardinals said in the statement. "The fan was treated for an abrasion and a bruise on her arm at First Aid and released. She was interviewed by police who are investigating the matter.

"There is nothing more important than the safety of our fans, and the Cardinals are grateful that no one was seriously injured. We will be sharing more information with the media as further details emerge."

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, police received a call for shots fired less than a mile from the stadium moments before the woman was struck. Police told the newspaper that the bullet may have come from someone shooting into the air.
