Astros' Correa has '99 percent chance' to return Monday vs. Angels

April 16 (UPI) -- Houston Astros stud shortstop Carlos Correa isn't expected to miss any games while dealing with a hand bruise.

Correa suffered the contusion Saturday in the Astros' 10-6 victory against the Oakland Athletics. He was due to miss the team's Sunday contest at Oakland Coliseum, but the game was rained out.

The 2015 Rookie of the Year has turned into one of baseball's best players. He went 0-for-3 with a walk and two strikeouts Saturday, before being hit on the left hand with a ninth inning pitch and being removed from the game. Correa's X-rays were negative.

"I told skip I'm still down for 162 [games]," Correa told MLB.com. He also said he has a "99 percent chance" of playing Monday.

Correa, 22, is 11-for-47 this season with a home run and 3 RBI. He also has four walks in 54 plate appearances.

The Astros [8-4] host the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim at 8:10 p.m. Monday at Minute Maid Park.
