San Diego Padres ink RHP Jered Weaver

Feb. 18 (UPI) -- Three-time All-Star Jered Weaver is taking his 150 career wins to the San Diego Padres.

The former Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher had a career-worst 5.06 ERA and went 12-12 in 31 games last season. He led Major League Baseball with 20 wins in 2012 and 18 victories in 2014. Weaver started a league-high 34 games in 2010 and 2014. He has a 3.55 ERA in 11 seasons.

Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reports that Weaver's new deal with the Padres is for one year, with a base salary of $3 million. USA TODAY's Bob Nightengale first reported Weaver's linking to the Padres. His deal includes a $250,000 assignment bonus and a suite on the road, according to Chris Cotillo.
