The 33-year-old had a 4.09 ERA in 64 appearances last year for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He owns a 3.77 career ERA. In his first three seasons for the Dodgers, Howell held a 1.97 ERA and had a 13-5 record in 200 appearances. He was drafted in 2004 by the Kansas City Royals in the supplemental draft and traded in 2006 to the Tampa Bay Devils Rays. He signed with the Dodgers as a free agent in 2013.
