The Pittsburgh Pirates obtained right-handed pitcher Pat Light from the Minnesota Twins in exchange for a player to be named or cash considerations, the team announced Thursday.

Light was designated for assignment by the Twins on Feb. 6 after splitting the 2016 season between the Boston Red Sox and Twins' organizations. He appeared in 17 major league games last season, including 15 for the Twins. Overall he was 0-1 with an 11.34 ERA in 2016.
