Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Seven-year MLB veteran catcher Hank Conger is joining the Arizona Diamondbacks' battery.
The 29-year-old backstop hit .194 with three home runs in 49 games last season for the Tampa Bay Rays. His new pact is a minor-league deal for $950,000, according to reports. He can make an additional $450,000 in incentives, according to MLB Daily Dish's Chris Cotillo.
Conger also got an invitation to spring training. He was optioned to Triple-A Durham in July, was again designated for assignment in September, before being sent to Triple-A Durham again four days later. Conger hit .165 with three home runs last year in the minors.
