Chicago Cubs claim LHP David Rollins off waivers

The Chicago Cubs claimed left-handed relief pitcher David Rollins off waivers from the Seattle Mariners on Friday.

Rollins, who turns 27 on Dec. 21, was 1-0 with a 7.71 ERA over 9 1/3 innings in 11 relief appearances in five stints with Seattle last season. With Triple-A Tacoma, he was 5-0 with a 3.77 ERA over 45 1/3 innings in 37 games.

In parts of two seasons with Seattle, Rollins was 1-2 with a 7.60 ERA over 34 1/3 innings in 31 relief appearances.
