LAS VEGAS, Oct. 16 (UPI) -- As Major League Baseball's final four teams prepare for their respective championship series, one of them is going forward as the favorite to win the World Series -- at least according to one of Las Vegas' largest bookmakers.

And the anticipated champions are -- the red hot Toronto Blue Jays.

The Westgate SuperBook, one of the most influential sports books in Las Vegas, listed the Blue Jays as a 7-to-4 favorite -- which are greater odds than the other three teams.

Toronto has been one of baseball's hottest teams over the last couple weeks. They found themselves in an 0-2 hole to start the American League Divisional Series to the Texas Rangers, but rallied to win three straight and take the series.

A wild seventh inning in Game 5 Wednesday only added to the Jays' fortunes.

The team with the next best odds is Chicago (9-to-4), which hasn't won a World Series title since 1908 and hasn't even been to the championship round since 1945.

Kansas City is third (3-to-1) and the New York Mets are fourth (4-to-1).

At Caesars Sportsbook, more money has been put on the Cubs than any other team, ESPN reported Friday. In fact, the bookmakers there could lose a sizable amount of money if Chicago breaks their 117-year drought.

"We're looking at a $350,000 loss on the Cubs," sports operations manager Bismarck Leon at the Rio (a Caesars book), told ESPN.

However, the favorite isn't always the same at all sportsbooks. The Chicago Tribune reported Friday that the Cubs have the best odds (8-to-5) at MGM Race and Sports.

"I've been in the business 30 years, and this is the first time I have seen the Cubs as the favorite," Jeff Stoneback, the MGM assistant general manager, said.
