CHICAGO, May 18 (UPI) -- It's no secret that President Barack Obama has a strong sports allegiance to Chicago. But something else became even more prevalent Monday, when he started a Twitter account and followed all the city's teams, minus the Cubs.
Obama (@POTUS) started off his account with a tweet that read: "Hello, Twitter! It's Barack. Really! Six years in, they're finally giving me my own account."
@POTUS We're big fans of America. Just saying. #YouMissedATeam

He followed 65 accounts, including the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bears, Chicago Blackhawks, and Chicago Bulls, but not the Cubs.
And the Cubs took notice by tweeting: "@POTUS We're big fans of America. Just saying. #YouMissedATeam." The city's WNBA team also gave POTUS a shout, saying: "Hey @POTUS after you follow the @Cubs you still have one more Chicago pro team to follow. #ChicagoSports #ChiSky."
@NBCSN @POTUS We wouldn't say unhappy, but we'd be honored to have his support. Perhaps @MichelleObama will influence him! #CubsFan
