ARCADIA, Calif., Nov. 4 (UPI) -- California Chrome is the world's top-ranked horse and it's tough to find any way to bet against him in Saturday's $6 million Breeders' Cup Classic.

The 5-year-old hasn't lost this year and his victories include the $10 million Dubai World Cup. He's on a roll to become the all-time leading money-winner among Thoroughbreds.

He also has beaten most of his rivals in Saturday's Classic -- some multiple times.

Arrogate, a very talented 3-year-old, jumped up to win the Grade I Travers at Saratoga this summer in his first stakes start for trainer Bob Baffert. And, almost defying belief, he did it in track-record time. At historic Saratoga.

If he runs back to that race, he will be competitive with California Chrome. But, with years of experience under his girth, "Chrome" still gets the nod.

So, how to bet this?

Maybe the best bet would be $2 on California Chrome's nose and watch for fun. Otherwise, perhaps a straight $2 trifecta with California Chrome over Arrogate over --- hmmm. I'll take Frosted, who ran a freakish race of his own in winning the Met Mile at Belmont Park back in June.

There is aother possibility, although some fans hate this as akin to betting "Don't Pass" at the craps table. If huge amounts of "bridge jumper" money come into the show pool on California Chrome, a $2 show bet on "all" would reap huge rewards if he should finish out of the top three.

The term refers to bettors who wager thousands of dollars to show, hoping for a quick 5 percent to 10 percent ROI because of the various mandatory show payoffs in differing jurisdictions. If the horse stumbles, they're ready to, figuratively, jump off a bridge.

Whatever the wager, this will be one to savor. Don't bet more than you can afford to lose -- even to show.
