U.S. Open: Dean Burmester holes out eagle from 104 yards

June 15 (UPI) -- Dean Burmester holed out for eagle from 104 yards away to wrap up his first round at the 2018 U.S. Open.

The No. 114 golfer in the world hit a 411-yard drive on the par 4 final hole Thursday at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, N.Y. He pulled out a club for his next shot, before lofting the ball high into the air and dropping it right on the pin.

The crowd roared after Burmester's shot smacked the flagstick and went in the hole. Burmester shot a 3-over-par 38 on the front nine and was 2-over-par on the back nine, wrapping up the day with a 5-over-par 75.

Burmester has never won the the PGA Tour. The 29-year-old last finished tied for 30th at the 2018 World Golf Championships-Mexico Championship on March 4 in Nauchalpan, Mexico.
