Gary Player: Hall of Fame golfer flaunts groovy dance moves

Oct. 3 (UPI) -- Golfing legend Gary Player still looked pretty flexible when he showed off some dance moves recently at his charity tournament in New York.

Player, 81, took the floor at the event at GlenArbor Golf Club in New York. He sported a tuxedo before standing up at the cocktail attire event and showing off his rhythm. The event was the gala dinner and auction for Players' Golf and Giving fundraiser. Monday's cause raised more than $300,000 for the Gary Player Foundation.

The foundation is a 501(c)3 organization aiding underprivileged children & impoverished communities around the world through the Gary Player Invitational, Gary Player and Marc Player.

Tom Watson and Alison Lee teamed up to win the tournament with 96 points, earning the Baobab Trophy as the champions of the 2017 Berenberg Gary Player Invitational.

"Each year I am humbled by the turnout of this event and the support we receive for The Player Foundation," Player said in a news release for the event. "I am grateful for the kindness of our colleagues and friends who have given their time and generosity to helping us reach our goal of raising $100 million for those in need."

This is far from the first time the World Golf Hall of Famer has shown off his agility. Player posted a video in July of himself back flipping into a lake.

"Age is just a number & we are only as old as those surrounding you #grandchildrenschallenge #playerfamily," the nine-time major championship winner wrote as the caption this summer on a Twitter video of the stunt.

Player designed the Bedford course, which hosted more than 30 professional golfers during the event.

In addition to Watson, Player and Lee, the charity event also included: Lee Trevino, Bernhard Langer, Mark O'Meara, Trevor Immelman, Larry Mize, Mike Weir, Branden Grace, Cristie Kerr, Morgan Pressel, Bill Haas, Jay Haas, Billy Horschel, Tom Lehman, Jeff Sluman, Juli Inkster, Hunter Mahan, Chris DiMarco, Kristy McPherson, Gerina Piller, Nicole Hage, Mallory Blackwelder, Victoria Elizabeth, Victoria Lovelady, Briana Mao, Ginger Howard, Blair O'Neal and Alexandra O'Laughlin.
