Sept. 29 (UPI) -- They might be rivals in the Presidents Cup, but on Thursday Jason Day and Jordan Spieth teamed up to golf against kids. But they lost.

Spieth, the No. 2 golfer in the world, and Day (No. 6) were on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon during the stunt.

Three of the best junior golfers in the world first appeared on the show, including 5-year-old Isaac Riches, 8-year-old Aiden Dinani and 10-year-old Madison Moman.

They briefly talked to the late-night host, when the Australian Riches revealed his favorite golfer.

"Jason Day, because he's an Aussie like me," Riches said. He also said if he ever met Day he'd give him a big hug or a cuddle.

Dinani said Jordan Spieth was his favorite golfer because he "wins like a lot."

Moman said she'd want to golf with Fallon, Justin Timberlake and Taylor Swift.

The three kids were then surprised when Fallon announced that the two golfers were on the set. Riches even got his hug with his favorite golfer. The group then competed in a Skee-Ball mini-golf chipping exercise. The kid golfers won the contest 190 to 110.

The Presidents Cup began on Thursday. Justin Thomas and Rickie Fowler beat Charl Schwartezl and Hideki Matsuyama and Dustin Johnson and Matt Kuchar beat Jhonattan Vegas and Adam Scott. Spieth and Patrick Reed beat Emiliano Grillo and Si Woo Kim. Day and Marc Leishman halved with Phil Mickelson and Kevin Kisner.

Spieth and Reed were one stroke up on Adam Hadwin and Matsuyama through three holes Friday. Day and Leishman were one stroke up on Kisner and Mickelson after one hole in the second round.
