"Dr. gave me the ok to start pitching," Woods wrote on Twitter.

Tiger laced up his white Nikes and muscle shirt and posted a slow-motion video of the exercise. He smacked the ball toward a yellow flag on the manicured lawn of the course, likely near his home in Jupiter, Fla.

Woods, 41, hasn't played competitive golf since January. He missed the entire 2016 season. Woods tied for 15th place at the Hero World Challenge, but missed the cut at January's Farmers Insurance Open. He also withdrew from the Dubai Desert Classic.

The golfer later had his fourth back surgery.

Woods was arrested on Memorial Day for a reported DUI. He currently sits at No. 1,121 in the World Golf Ranking.

The 14-time major winner hasn't won a major since the 2008 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines. He has 79 career PGA Tour wins.

Woods will not likely be ready to return to the tour anytime in the immediate future. The Tour Championship is set for Sept. 21 while the 2018 Masters is planned for April 6 at August National in Augusta, Ga.
