Tiger Woods has been medically cleared to resume swinging a golf club, as the former top-ranked golfer in the world and 14-time major winner tweeted a video Thursday showing himself hitting balls with a pitching wedge.
"(Doctor) gave me the ok to start pitching," Woods' caption on the tweet read.
Woods, 41, last played in a competitive tournament at the Dubai Desert Classic in January. He withdrew from the event with back spasms and underwent a fourth back surgery in April.
ESPN reports Woods is expected to attend the Presidents Cup in September as an assistant to United States team captain Steve Stricker.
Woods was arrested for driving under the influence near his home in Florida this past Memorial Day. Toxicology reports revealed Woods had a variety of drugs in his system at the time of the arrest.
