Scott Stallings became the second player in as many days to shoot an 11-under-par 60 at the Barbasol Championship, surging to the top of the leaderboard on Saturday at Opelika, Ala.

Stallings had 10 birdies and an eagle and closed with a flourish with birdies on the final three holes to take a one-shot lead over Grayson Murray at the Grand National Lake Course.

In matching the course record set by Jhonattan Vegas and tied one day earlier by Chad Collins, Stallings came from seven shots off the pace and was at 19-under 194 through 54 holes in the PGA Tour event.

"I just tried to stay as cool as I could. Temperature-wise, it was brutal hot out there," Stallings said after shooting his lowest round on the PGA Tour. "That was a good distraction for me. I knew I was playing well. ... It's pretty easy to lose your train of thought."

Murray, who was tied for second place after 36 holes, fired his second straight 64 and is alone in second place, one shot ahead of Tag Ridings and Chad Collins.

Ridings scorched the course with nine birdies and an eagle before a bogey at No. 18 left him with a 63. Collins was unable to follow up his blistering second round and carded a 2-under 69.

Cameron Tringale, who started the day in a tie for second, is alone in fifth place, four shots off the lead, after a 67. Six players are bunched at 13-under 200. Among them are Ben Martin (64) and amateur Sam Burns, who fashioned his second straight 66.
