April 13 (UPI) -- In the least surprising sports news of the week, John Daly can drive a golf ball off a beer can. He will also happily chug said can of beer.

The legendary golfer accomplished the feat Monday in Myrtle Beach, S.C., while participating in the Monday After the Masters fundraiser. Daly pleased fans by placing his golf ball on the top of a tall beer can. He then walked over and unleashed his driver, smashing the ball off the top before happily running over to his fallen beer and chugging it down.

Daly, 50, is ranked No. 1,710 in the Official World Golf Rankings.

He missed the cut on March 19 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard.

Daly was attending a Hooters bikini contest before the Masters last weekend in Augusta. He also sang his song "Hit it Hard" onstage at the event.

Monday After the Masters began in 1994 and is now one of the biggest celebrity pro-ams in the United States. It has generated millions of dollars for children's educational programs and the South Carolina junior golf program, according to its official website. The fundraiser tournament is hosted by Hootie & the Blowfish members Darius Rucker, Dean Felber, Mark Bryan and Jim "Soni" Sonefeld.
