March 20 (UPI) -- He's finally back on the green.
But it's not exactly in the way most golfing fans want.
Tiger Woods was on a small putting green Monday, while on the set of Good Morning America.
Woods took part in a putting contest against former football great Michael Strahan. The duo started with five golf balls. Woods made four putts to Strahan's three.
"There you go man," Strahan told Woods. "Take that trophy, you deserve it. Put that next to your Masters jacket."
Woods was on the show to promote the release of his new book: The 1997 Masters: My Story. He said he is trying to get ready to compete in two weeks for the 2017 Masters.
"God, I hope so," Woods told Strahan. "I'm trying. I'm trying everything to be able to get back and play. I love that event. It's meant so much to me in my life. It was the first major I ever played back in 1995. It has so much history and meaning to me, I'd love to get back."
Woods, 41, hasn't won a major championship since the 2008 U.S. Open.
