Fields was committed to Penn State before changing his mind and going to Georgia. He was the No. 1 ranked quarterback in the 2018 class.

The freshman completed 27-of-39 pass attempts for 328 yards, four scores and zero interceptions in 12 games this season for the Bulldogs while backing up sophomore Jake Fromm.

Fromm completed 68.4 percent of his throws for 2,537 yards, 27 touchdowns and five interceptions in 13 appearances in 2018 for Georgia.

Fields intends to petition the NCAA for immediate eligibility.
