USC junior cornerback Jack Jones was ruled academically ineligible for the 2018 season, multiple media outlets reported.

Jones, who sat out spring practice because of his academic issues, is not expected to return to the school, according to Rivals.com.

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound Jones started 13 of 14 games for the Trojans in 2017, registering a team-high four interceptions along with eight deflections and 40 tackles.

A third-team All-American, Jones also contributed on special teams, returning both kicks and punts. He also blocked a field goal.

Jones appeared in all 13 games in a reserve role as a freshman in 2016, notching 13 tackles and a fumble recovery.
