Alabama redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Brandon Kennedy is considering transferring to Auburn or Tennessee.

Kennedy has graduated and as a graduate transfer would be eligible to play immediately if not for one problem.

Alabama is blocking Kennedy from transferring to another Southeast Conference school, according to AL.com.

"Redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Brandon Kennedy is interested in transferring to Auburn or Tennessee but isn't even currently allowed to have contact with those schools, any other school in the SEC or any of the Crimson Tide's future non-conference opponents," AL.com reported.

Kennedy is in the process of appealing the decision.

Two years ago, defensive back Maurice Smith wanted to transfer to Georgia and initially was rebuffed by the Crimson Tide.

After a contentious meeting between head coach Nick Saban and Smith's mother, the university relented and Smith joined Kirby Smart in Athens, Ga.
