Troubled Georgia linebacker Natrez Patrick is entering a drug treatment program after violating his probation and will miss Georgia's College Football Playoff semifinal game against Oklahoma in the Rose Bowl.
Patrick was facing 30 days of jail time for the violation before the case was resolved Thursday. He will be admitted to an inpatient program in Augusta, Ga.
Patrick was arrested on Dec. 3 with teammate Jayson Stanley. It was Patrick's third marijuana-related arrest since 2015 and second this year.
The latest arrest triggered probation activity and he was discovered to have marijuana in his system in a drug test administered on Dec. 6. Patrick underwent another test on Dec. 19 and had marijuana and opiates in his system.
The two failed drug tests resulted in the probation violation.
Patrick, a junior, had 35 tackles this season.
