Quarterback Baker Mayfield became the sixth Oklahoma player to win the Heisman Trophy when he was named the winner of the coveted award Saturday night in New York.

Mayfield led the Sooners (12-1) to a spot in the College Football Playoff as well as Oklahoma's third straight Big 12 championship. He threw for 4,340 yards and 41 touchdowns with only five interceptions.

Louisville's Lamar Jackson, the 2016 winner, and Stanford running back Bryce Love were the other finalists.
