Jimbo Fisher remains non-committal on Texas A&M Aggies head coach job

Florida State is requesting an answer from Jimbo Fisher on whether or not he intends to remain the school's football coach.

Fisher has been linked to the Texas A&M opening and he has declined to discuss the situation. There are reports he has already been given the framework of an upcoming job offer.

Fisher stuck to his often-repeated statement during a Thursday morning appearance on ESPN radio, and that comment is only creating more speculation that he is prepared to move on.

"Well, I'm a coach, we're coaching through this game," Fisher said. "And then we always make decisions at the end of the year after things are finished."

The Seminoles (5-6) close the regular season on Saturday against Louisiana-Monroe. A victory would extend Florida State's consecutive bowl game streak to 36.

The Aggies are prepared to offer Fisher a deal that would average over $7 million annually. He currently makes $5.7 million on an extension he signed in Dec. 2016.

Only Alabama's Nick Saban and Clemson's Dabo Swinney would be higher paid than Fisher if the Texas A&M deal occurs.

One factor working in Texas A&M's favor is that Fisher and Aggies athletic director Scott Woodward worked together when Fisher was offensive coordinator at LSU.

Fisher reportedly has grown frustrated with Florida State officials over the failure to improve football facilities.

Fisher has an 83-23 record in eight seasons with the Seminoles and won the 2013 BCS national championship with a 14-0 record.
