NORMAN, Okla. -- Baker Mayfield might not have started for No. 4 Oklahoma, but he certainly left his mark on Saturday's home finale against West Virginia.

Mayfield threw for 281 yards and three touchdowns as the Sooners blew out the Mountaineers 59-31 at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

Oklahoma stayed on track for a College Football Playoff berth with the win, its seventh consecutive since the Oct. 7 loss to Iowa State.

The Sooners (11-1, 8-1 Big 12) will face TCU in next week's Big 12 title game in Irving, Texas.

West Virginia (7-5, 5-4) has lost two consecutive games and awaits its bowl fate.

Mayfield didn't start the game and didn't serve as a captain, following last week's profane tirade at Kansas.

But Oklahoma's offense wasn't slowed at all.

On the game's first play, Kyler Murray -- who started in Mayfield's place -- ran for 66 yards, setting up a touchdown a play later.

That wound up being the only two plays Mayfield missed before replacing Murray.

When Mayfield, the Heisman Trophy favorite, came on the field, the crowd of 86,117 gave him a long ovation before Rodney Anderson broke off a 58-yard run.

Three plays later, Mayfield threw the first of his three touchdowns.

Mayfield stayed in the game until late in the third quarter, when, after one play of a drive, he was replaced by Murray, drawing a large ovation as he wrapped up the final home game of his Sooners career.

West Virginia moved the ball well offensively on its first two drives but only came out of it with a field goal after the first drive stalled and the second ended at the Oklahoma 11 with a Justin Crawford fumble.

The Sooners scored on all seven of their first-half possessions, with all ending in a touchdown except for the final one -- an Austin Seibert 51-yard field goal after the Mountaineers turned the ball over in the final seconds before halftime to send the Sooners into the break up 45-10.

Anderson ran for 118 yards and four touchdowns for Oklahoma.

Kennedy McCoy ran for 137 yards and three scores for the Mountaineers.
