Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh starts YouTube channel

July 8 (UPI) -- College football coach Jim Harbaugh joined YouTube over the Fourth of July weekend and he continues to post videos of his life outside of football.

Harbaugh's latest post came Friday, when he took a video of himself singing the University of Michigan's fight song to his son John.

The Wolverines coach welcomed John, his seventh child, with wife Sarah in January.

"Singing to Baby John," Harbaugh wrote as the title for the 11-second clip, taken from a rocking chair on the front porch.

"Hail! to the conqu'ring heroes," Harbaugh sang. "Hail! Hail! to Michigan the leaders and best. Hail! to the victors valiant."

His first post came from Camp Michigania. The camp is owned and operated by the Alumni Association of the University of Michigan. Alumni camp at the site in the summer, while it hosts educational and recreational programs through the fall, winter and spring.

"Hi there," Harbaugh said. "Coach Harbaugh here up at Camp Michigania. Beautiful Northern Michigan. Lake Walloon. Having a wonderful time with the family. My big announcement of the day is starting with this post. I'm going to be uploading behind the scenes shots to social media, starting with this. Go Blue! Have a great summer."

Harbaugh's second video was titled: "Great time on the lake with Addie & Katie." It features Harbaugh riding on a tube with his two daughters while holding a camera. He giggles relentlessly until the trio flies off into the water.

The coach's other children include Jay, who is Michigan's running backs coach, Jack, James and Grace.

Harbaugh, 53, is the most followed coach in college football, when it comes to social media. He has nearly two million virtual followers on Twitter. He tweeted all of the new YouTube videos from his account @CoachJim4UM. His three videos have more than 60,000 views on YouTube.

Harbaugh is 20-6, with a 1-1 bowl record in two seasons coaching the Wolverines. He was 29-21, with a 1-1 bowl record in four seasons at Stanford, before jumping to the pro ranks in 2011 to join the San Francisco 49ers. Harbaugh posted a 44-19-1 mark in the pros with a 5-3 playoff record, including a loss to his brother in Super Bowl XLVII.

His new YouTube account currently has more than 1,100 subscribers.
