South Florida defensive end Ladarrius Jackson was arrested Monday night on charges of sexual assault/battery and false imprisonment of a fellow student at a residential hall on campus, according to multiple reports.

Jackson, a 22-year-old junior, was arrested around 10:30 p.m. ET after forcing a female classmate to perform a sexual act earlier in the day, per a USF police report.

He "forced her into her room after she placed her hands on a wall in an attempt to stop him, pushed her onto the bed and straddled her," according to the report via the Tampa Bay Times.

The victim said she did not attempt to leave the room because she was afraid the 6-foot-4, 243 pound Jackson would try to stop her. She immediately reported the incident to the university housing staff.

No physical injuries were reported to the police and Jackson was detained at Tampa International Airport, the Times reports.

Jackson was still in jail as of Tuesday morning and being held without bail, Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office records show.

Jackson has been removed from team activities pending the investigation.

"We are aware of the charges filed against (Jackson)," USF coach Charlie Strong said in a statement. "While we find the allegations troubling, we will continue to gather information and support the judicial process before providing further comment."

Jackson, of Birmingham, Ala., recorded three tackles in seven games last season. He is the second South Florida football player to be arrested this offseason.

In March, defensive back Hassan Childs was arrested on assault and marijuana possession charges and later dismissed from the team.
