"Gator Nation welcomes you to Gainesville, @LilTunechi! #GoGators," McElwain wrote in the caption for the photo, featuring himself holding up a No. 1 Lil Wayne Gators jersey.

Lil Wayne, also known as Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., is performing with Cyhi Da Prynce at the venue.

He has another show scheduled Friday at WVU Coliseum in Morgantown, West Virginia. Lil Wayne didn't show up to one of his concerts last weekend at the Target Center in Minneapolis. He later apologized for the gaffe. Guests who planned to attend the show will be refunded.

The Gators hired McElwain in 2015. He has a 19-8 record, including a 1-1 bold mark, in two seasons in Gainesville.
