Washington quarterback Jake Browning underwent surgery on this throwing shoulder earlier this month, the Seattle Times reported.
Browning will require about six weeks to of recovery time from the procedure on his right shoulder.
Browning suffered the injury during a Nov. 19 game against Arizona State.
The Huskies reportedly kept the ailment quiet as they didn't want opponents to know the shoulder was bothering Browning.
Browning was highly ineffective in Washington's 24-7 loss to Alabama in the College Football Playoff semifinals on Dec. 31. He was just 20-of-38 passing for 150 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.
Browning concluded his sophomore season with 3,430 yards, second most in school history. He also tied the Pac-12 record with 43 touchdown passes and was intercepted just nine times.
