AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 5 (UPI) -- Texas and Notre Dame have two of the most storied programs in college football history. That means that both schools have numerous notable alumni in the NFL ranks.
Longhorns and Leprechauns are forever, apparently. After Texas' 50-47 double-overtime victory Sunday against the No. 10 Irish, those alumni were loud and proud on social media.
What a time to be a Longhorn! 🤘🏽— Earl Thomas (@Earl_Thomas) September 5, 2016

Former Fighting Irish players weren't as happy about the result.
"Caught the last two min of the ND game but from what I saw and heard. Texas all the way earned that game. Can't give up 50 and expect to win," former running back Ryan Grant said.

"What a great game by both teams," former quarterback Jimmy Clausen said. "ND with a huge comeback but they were overmatched the entire night. Swoopes/Buechele together won the game!"
