FSU receiver Dent held on sexual assault charges

TALLAHASSEE, Fla., June 10 (UPI) -- Greg Dent, a receiver for Florida State, was jailed on $15,000 bond Monday on a charge of sexual battery after police said he forced himself on a woman.

The early Sunday incident occurred while the woman was spending the night in Dent's apartment after he and three friends returned from a nightclub, Tallahassee.com reported.

The woman said she had known Dent since her freshman year of college and she had previously slept at Dent's residence without incident, a police affidavit said.

After she fell asleep, the woman said she was awakened by Dent kissing her. After rejecting him, the woman said she eventually had to bite Dent on the lips to get him to stop.

Dent removed his clothes and then forcefully removed her clothes and attempted to have intercourse, she said.

The woman said she fought him off and fled the apartment, taking her clothes with her.

Dent, 23, was FSU's fifth-leading receiver last year, the Orlando Sentinel reported. The incoming senior from Belle Glade caught 27 passes for 355 yards and had two touchdowns.
