COL FB: Notre Dame 41, Miami (Fla.) 3

CHICAGO, Oct. 6 (UPI) -- Cierre Wood and George Atkinson III combined for 241 rushing yards and three touchdowns Saturday in 10th-ranked Notre Dame's 41-3 pasting of Miami-Florida.

Wood compiled 118 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries. Atkinson contributed 123 yards and a score on 10 attempts as the Fighting Irish (5-0) romped at Chicago's Soldier Field.

Notre Dame amassed 376 rushing yards in all, winning a fifth straight to start a season for the first time since 2002.

Everett Golson came off the bench to go 17-of-22 through the air for 186 yards and also added 51 rushing yards on six carries for the Irish.

The Hurricanes (4-2) were led by Stephen Morris, who managed 201 yards on 18-of-35 passing.
