COL FB: Wisconsin 16, Utah State 14

MADISON, Wis., Sept. 16 (UPI) -- Montee Ball ran for the winning touchdown in the third quarter Saturday and 22nd-ranked Wisconsin held on for a 16-14 decision over Utah State.

Ball, who finished with 139 yards on 37 carries, gave Wisconsin the lead late in the third when he broke into the end zone from 17 yards out to make the score 16-14.

The PAT was blocked, and the Badgers (2-1) only survived with the victory when Utah State's Josh Thompson missed a 37-yard field goal attempt with 11 seconds to play.

Wisconsin's Joel Stave and Danny O'Brien teamed up to go 7-of-16 passing for only 78 yards.

Chuckie Keeton completed 18-of-34 passing for 181 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 75 yards on 15 attempts for the Aggies (2-1).
