NEW YORK, Dec. 14 (UPI) -- An allegation that accusers are colluding in the child sex abuse case against ex-Penn State Coach Jerry Sandusky is "offensive," an attorney says.

After Sandusky waived his right to a preliminary hearing in a Pennsylvania courthouse Tuesday, his attorney Joe Amendola attacked the accusers' credibility, saying some exaggerated their stories and others wanted to make a profit, CBS News reported.

Michael Boni, representing the accuser known as Victim 1, denied his client knew any of the nine other accusers.

"The fact is this: Victim 1 does not know any of the other victims," Boni said on CBS's "Early Show."

"He has not spoken with them. He was the first person to come out and bring these charges against Mr. Sandusky, and it is ludicrous, not to mention extremely offensive, for [Amendola] to level those charges against these victims."

On NBC's "Today Show," Amendola explained the decision to waive Sandusky's right to a preliminary hearing.

"What would've happened yesterday is that the media would've had a feeding frenzy," Amendola said. "They would've heard the worst of the worst of the commonwealth witnesses. We would not have been able to cross-examine them about credibility."
