COL FB: Louisiana State 35, Kentucky 7

BATON ROUGE, La., Oct. 1 (UPI) -- Jordan Jefferson returned from a suspension Saturday, scoring a touchdown for top-ranked Louisiana State in its 35-7 rout of Kentucky.

Jefferson returned to the field for the first time since his Aug. 26 suspension after felony charges against him stemming from a bar fight were reduced to a misdemeanor.

He rushed four times for 29 yards and a 1-yard TD run in the first quarter for the Tigers (5-0, 2-0 SEC), who extended their home winning streak to 13 games.

Terrence Magee and Alfred Blue also notched 1-yard scoring runs for the victors.

Morgan Newton was held to 6-of-20 passing for Kentucky (2-3, 0-2), which managed only 155 yards of total offense.
