COL FB: Oklahoma 47, Tulsa 14

STILLWATER, Okla., Sept. 4 (UPI) -- Dominique Whaley scored four times en route to 131 yards Saturday and No. 1 Oklahoma cruised past Tulsa 47-14 in the season opener for both schools.

Landry Jones went 35-of-47 through the air for 375 yards, connecting on a touchdown as the Sooners (1-0), who won the Big 12 title with a 12-2 record last season, got off to a good start.

The Sooners piled up 663 yards of offense in the one-sided win.

G.J. Kinne went 17-of-34 for 265 yards, two TDs and an interception for Tulsa (0-1) in its first game under Coach Bill Blankenship.
