Kentucky's Hamidou Diallo throws down windmill in Egypt

By Alex Butler

July 4 (UPI) -- John Calipari is coaching Hamidou Diallo this week in Egypt and the 2016 recruit recently displayed his dunking skills.

Diallo and incoming Kentucky freshman P.J. Washington are playing on USA Basketball's under 19 team in the FIBA World Cup. Diallo sat out the 2016-17 season for the Wildcats but took his name out of the 2017 NBA Draft.

On Sunday, he flushed in a windmill dunk against Angola.

Diallo blocked a shot to start the play before racing down the court and throwing down the huge dunk. He scored 15 points in the USA's 109-68 win in Cairo, 247 Sports: reported "http://kentucky.247sports.com/Bolt/WATCH-Hamidou-Diallo-throws-down-windmill-dunk-vs-Angola-53417399" target="_blank", t.

Diallo is posting averages of 16 points, 3.5 rebounds, two assists, two steals, a block and zero turnovers through two games. He is also shooting 65 percent from the floor. Washington has netted 12 points, 5.5 rebounds three assists and 1.5 steals per bout.

"I told him [Diallo], 'Now, we're going to Egypt together and you're going to start playing there,'' Calipari told Bluestar Media last week. "He was ridiculous today. How good was he? He is scary. He's gotten so much better. He's not the same player he was last summer. He's more disciplined, more skilled. He'll still do some undisciplined things, but we expect that. What I want him to do, if he wants to be the best player in the country, we got to get a lot done. His offense happens because he run and jump and move without the ball. He's shooting it a lot better than he has. So now, it's just 'Let's see.'''
