Kansas guard Frank Mason III added to his impressive trophy case on Friday by being named this year's recipient of the John R. Wooden Award, which is presented to the nation's most outstanding men's basketball player.
The announcement was made at ESPN's College Basketball Awards show in Los Angeles.
Mason, who also received the Bob Cousy Award on Friday as the nation's top point guard, averaged 20.9 points, 5.2 assists and 4.2 rebounds during his senior season. He also had won the Oscar Robertson Trophy on March 31, one day after being named the Associated Press Player of the Year.
Hart won the Julius Erving award (top small forward), Kentucky's Malik Monk won the Jerry West award (top shooting guard), Baylor's Johnathan Motley won the Karl Malone award (top power forward) and Gonzaga's Przemek Karnowski won the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar award (top center).
