March 17 (UPI) -- There is no bigger stage for college basketball stars to make an impression.

Unfortunately for Amir Coffey, the impression he left after one dunk attempt won't be something he is particularly proud of.

In the second half of Minnesota's loss to Middle Tennessee Thursday, Coffey drove the lane and soared, with his right arm cocked for a vicious throw down. But the ball came loose just as he got to the rim and Coffey flailed awkwardly to the floor and into the base of the hoop.

The No. 12 seed Blue Raiders pulled off one of the first upsets of the 2017 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament by beating the No. 5 Golden Gophers in Milwaukee.

Coffey led the Golden Gophers with 17 points. The Blue Raiders battle Butler in the second round at 7:10 p.m. Saturday at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
