OMAHA, Feb. 16 (UPI) -- Doug McDermott sank 13-of-17 field goal tries en route to 39 points Sunday, powering No. 17 Creighton to a 101-80 home win over No. 6 Villanova.
McDermott hit four 3-pointers, went 9-of-9 from the free-throw line and grabbed seven rebounds for the Bluejays (21-4, 11-2 Big East), who notched a second straight win.

Isaiah Zierden put in 13 points and Devin Brooks added 12 for Creighton, which swept its season series against Villanova and took over first place in the Big East Conference.
The Wildcats (22-3, 10-2) had their six-game winning streak snapped despite 18 points and six rebounds from James Bell.
JayVaughn Pinkston logged 15 points and five boards.
