MCLEAN, Va., Jan. 27 (UPI) -- Arizona is one poll point short of being the unanimous No. 1 in the USA Today coaches' basketball poll and Michigan makes a big move up in the rankings.
Arizona (20-0) takes 31 of the 32 first-place votes and is second on the other ballot Monday. The other first-place mention and all the other second-place votes went to No. 2 Syracuse (19-0) while Wichita State (21-0) moves up to No. 3. They are the only undefeated teams in NCAA Division I men's basketball.
Florida (17-2) is up to fourth and San Diego State (18-1) moves to No. 5.
The biggest move up is by Michigan, which jumps 11 positions to No. 14 after beating Iowa and Michigan State, which were both in the Top 10 last week. The next biggest gainers are Kansas, now tied for seventh, and Creighton, which goes to 20th. Both are up four spots.
Baylor lost twice last week and drops from the rankings. Six other teams -- four in the Big Ten -- lost once. Michigan, of course, handed Iowa and Michigan State losses, while Big Ten members Wisconsin and Ohio State also were beaten. Villanova and Massachusetts dropped games last week.
Ohio State saw the biggest drop in the rankings, down eight places to 23rd, while Massachusetts is off seven, Wisconsin five and Villanova four as the biggest setbacks of the week.
Michigan State (18-2) is dropped to sixth while Louisville (17-3) and Kansas (15-4) tie for seventh. Villanova (17-2) comes in ninth and Oklahoma State (16-3) is at No. 10.
Kentucky (15-4) goes from 14th to No. 11 followed by the Big Ten trio of No. 12 Iowa (16-4), 13th-ranked Wisconsin (17-3) and No. 14 Michigan (15-4). Cincinnati (19-2) is up one spot to 15th.
No. 16 Duke (16-4) and 18th-ranked Iowa State (15-3) both have games against two ranked opponents this week. The first for Duke will be No. 17 Pittsburgh (18-2) Monday. Massachusetts (17-2) settles in at 19th and Creighton (17-3) improves to 20th.
St. Louis (18-2) drops to 21st followed by, in order, Memphis (15-4), Ohio State (16-4), Gonzaga (18-3) and Oklahoma (16-4). Oklahoma, like Duke and Iowa State, has games with two ranked teams this week. The Sooners, in addition to playing at Iowa State Saturday, have a home game against in-state rival Oklahoma State Monday.
In addition to the Pittsburgh game Monday, Duke plays at Syracuse Saturday. Iowa State visits Kansas Wednesday before the game with Oklahoma. Michigan State goes to Iowa Tuesday, Cincinnati is to play at Louisville Thursday and Ohio State travels to Wisconsin Saturday in other key match-ups this week.
