COL BKB: Arizona 72, Michigan 70

ANN ARBOR, Mich., Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Top-ranked Arizona remained undefeated by knocking off 25th-ranked Michigan on the road 72-70 Saturday.

Brandon Ashley led the Wildcats (11-0) with 18 points and Nick Johnson had 14, including six free throws in the final 25 seconds to secure the victory.

Johnson gave Arizona the lead for good with a pair of shots from the line with 24.6 seconds left in the game. Arizona was able to weather a 3-point shot by Michigan's Spike Albrecht with 2 seconds remaining that pulled the Wolverines (6-4) to 71-70.

Albrecht ended the day with 10 points. Glenn Robinson led Michigan with 20, but scored only four points in the second half during which Michigan was outscored 44-33.

Arizona out-rebounded Michigan 32-20 and went 14-for-15 from the free throw line. Michigan was sharp from the line as well, sinking 14-of-17 attempts.
