SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, Nov. 24 (UPI) -- D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera netted 26 points and sparked a second-half surge that sent Georgetown past No. 10 Virginia Commonwealth 83-80 Sunday in Puerto Rico.
Smith-Rivera scored six points during a 13-4 run that erased a 3-point deficit early in the second half for the Hoyas (3-2), who took the fifth-place game at the Puerto Rico Tip-Off.

Markel Starks added 23 points and Joshua Smith contributed 17.
VCU (4-2) was led by Briante Weber with a career-high 22 points.
Treveon Graham chipped in with 17 and nine rebounds.
